That's right, Sandlot Sports CR is the biggest outdoor Sand Volleyball facility in the whole United States and we want to brag about it 😋

Wit 18 courts within 154,000 sq ft of fenced land, we have become the biggest sand box you'll ever be at. For those who love volleyball, this place feels like a dream come true—a paradise of sand and sunshine.

The Dream Destination for Volleyball Lovers

Sandlot Sports CR is large and has an electric atmosphere. As soon as you enter, you hear laughter and the rhythmic sound of volleyballs hitting the sand. It is a lively community where both seasoned players and newcomers gather to enjoy the game in a laid-back setting.

With so many courts available, you don’t have to wait long for your turn. Grab your friends, choose a court, and get ready to dive into the action. Imagine dozens of games happening at once, building a competitive spirit while fostering friendships among players.

A Rich Culture of Volleyball

This facility serves as a vital hub for Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and beyond. During the spring summer and beginning of fall, various leagues and tournaments bring players together, showcasing incredible talent from beginners to advanced players. Personally, playing on a league is such a cool experience, no matter your experience you'll guarantee up your game and make some friends in the process.

Many locals I met shared how they cultivated lifelong friendships on these courts.

Facilities Beyond Volleyball

Although the sand courts are the main attraction, Sandlot Sports CR offers more than just volleyball. Visitors can unwind in our picnic tables, enjoying amazing eats from Sloppy's Food Truck and drinks between matches.

The well-maintained restrooms and feet showers facilities make it easy to freshen up after a game. Plus, ample parking ensures a smooth experience for all visitors.

Events and Tournaments

Sandlot Sports CR hosts various events that cater to both casual and competitive players. These tournaments not only test skills but also enhance a sense of community among participants, making them feel welcome regardless of their experience level.

One of my favorite monthly events is the well known "Mad Hatter". People show up, pay $5 and get rotated with different people to play! Last year, over 80 people took part, showcasing the area's growing volleyball community.

The Perfect Spot for Training

For those who are serious about volleyball, training at Sandlot Sports CR cannot be beaten. The courts' size and quality make it ideal for focused training sessions -plus open courts are completely free entry! Practicing serves and spikes on soft sand helps reduce stress on the joints, making it a safer option.

We are considering bringing expert coaches this year to help players enhance their skills. If this is something you'd be interested at let us know here.

The Joy of Volleyball Community

Sandlot Sports CR is much more than a venue for sand volleyball. It embodies a community spirit where players of all skills unite for the love of the game. With lively courts, friendly faces, and ongoing events, it has become a cherished haven for many volleyball enthusiasts in Cedar Rapids.

Whether you aim to compete, train, or enjoy a sunny day with friends, Sandlot Sports CR is the perfect destination to immerse yourself in the joy of sand volleyball.

So, lace up your sand socks, apply that sunscreen, and head to this fantastic facility. Here, you will discover not just a place to play, but a community that shares your passion for volleyball. Looking forward to seeing you on the courts!
